Closing the Teach For America Blogging Gap
May 20 2012

I have formulated a brilliant plan to travel to Hong Kong to gain first-hand experience with China’s political and economic systems

I heard through the grapevine that someone from Teach for America’s central offices came up to Alaska recently to explore creating a new TFA region here…through visits to Anchorage and Juneau.

I can see how logistically this might have seemed like a good choice, but it’s such a perfect snapshot of TFA’s sensibilities that I could just kick something.

On a related note, Alaska congressman and skilled fact-checker Don Young is determined to keep TFA funded because it’s currently doing great things for Alaskan students…despite the fact that there is no TFA Alaska – yet. Don Young is clearly very in touch with what is going on in Alaskan education. I will be sure to vote for him in the next election.
